Meet the maker: Abbeydale Brewery
Here at The Light, we love supporting local businesses, especially when they’re as good as Abbeydale Brewery. You can sample a range of their locally brewed real ales such as Moonshine, Heresy and Voyager at our bar or even grab a pint to enjoy during your film. We'd also recommend trying one along one of our stone-baked, sourdough pizzas or some delicious chicken wings - you can thank us later!
Starting in 1996, Patrick Morton along with his father Hugh set up their own brewery after developing a love of fine beer right here in the industrial heart of Sheffield.
Since then Pat and his wife Sue have taken over the reins and have developed a wide range of beers, with something for all tastes, and have expanded their team to become a major player in the real ale industry.
With each beer full of flavour and character, we've had the pleasure of offering a range of draught and canned options to our guests since we opened back in 2007. We often switch up what ranges we stock, so keep checking back see our latest additions!
A true Sheffield institution in both name and ownership (did you know their logo is even inspired by the frontage of Beauchief Abbey itself?), Abbeydale Brewery are proud to not only work within their local community but also to support local causes and charities and have raised money for everything from Cavendish Cancer Care and Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice with a range of charity beers.
We love to see a local business thriving and can't wait to see what they have lined up for the future!
